Why do we need the The Ishayas' Ascension?
The Ascension Attitudes are a series of effortless techniques, based on the natural movement toward Appreciation, Gratitude, and Love. As one grows into adulthood, the nervous system becomes imprinted with every experience it has ever had, including traumatic ones. These imprints, or stresses, cause us to respond to various life experiences in habitual, often negative, ways. The easy-to-use Attitudes of The Ishayas' Ascension systematically erase the stresses of the past and create the ability to respond to present situations with increased enjoyment and effectiveness.
How do The Ishayas' Ascension Attitudes work?
In as few as twenty minutes with the eyes closed, the Ascension Attitudes allow the body to reach a level of rest that is about twice as deep as the deepest sleep at night. This allows the body's natural healing tendencies to activate, permanently clearing the nervous system of stress.
What kinds of benefits are there to using The Ascension Attitudes?
The effects are immediate and cumulative. As the nervous system becomes more and more clear, The Ascension Attitudes begin to serve their true purpose; the heart and the mind come into alignment, producing a state of constant inner stillness, clarity and oneness. In this state, because one is no longer reacting to the limitations of the past or projections of the future, life is lived fully in the present moment. This pristine clarity is not easily interrupted or shaken by the challenges of every day life.
Traditionally, we are taught two distinct ways to use our minds. Early in life, we learn to direct our attention outward, to experience things around us, and to give them names and identities. Soon afterward, we learn to think abstractly, to think about things that are not in our direct environment. These two movements, perception and abstract thinking, are commonly considered completely natural uses of the mind.
There is a third movement of the mind that, despite being virtually non-existent in today's society, is just as natural as the other two. In fact, it is so natural, that the mind often slips into this third style of functioning on its own. So what is this "missing" movement? It's the ability to direct the mind inward to experience its source- a place of tranquility and silence. This third use of the mind is responsible for moments of unparalleled happiness, when all worry and fear slips away, and we are established in pure contentment and communion. The Ascension Attitudes enliven this third movement of the mind. The Attitudes can be used throughout the day, with the eyes open or closed, and they effortlessly draw the mind away from the chaos of abstract thought into the limitless peace of its source, the truth of who you are
How often do we need to practice The Ishayas' Ascension to experience results?
The recommendation is two to three times per day, for twenty to thirty minutes with eyes closed. It is suggested that one uses the techniques when possible in the morning, in the evening, and before bed. In addition, the Ascension Attitudes can be practiced at any time, in any situation with the eyes open. It is a wonderful tool for experiencing life fully in every moment!
Are any special preparations required to practice Ascension?
No. In fact, comfort and innocence are keys to successfully practicing the techniques. The more one can approach Ascension without preconceived notions of what it should be like, the faster stress will dissolve from the nervous system. No special positions, no special preparations and no belief are required to achieve the desired results. Ascension works with each individual nervous system, regardless of how focused on spiritual growth one has been up until this point, and moves one forward, unraveling the blocks in the nervous system.
What happens as more and more stress is permanently removed from the nervous system?
As more and more stress dissolves from the nervous system, one's ability to handle lives challenges in the present moment increases. Latent creativity and talents begin to manifest. Many people find that the longer they practice the Ascension Attitudes, the more efficiently they work and the less sleep they need
The following four Ishayas' Ascension Attitudes comprise the foundation, or First Sphere, of the Ishaya Teaching:
Praise Attitude
The Praise Attitude is the most basic, the most fundamental of all the techniques. The Praise Attitude corrects the fundamental stress of the modern world, that something is wrong with the individual life. It helps us see beyond any thought that "something is wrong with my life."
The Praise Attitude usually proves the most useful for transforming the grossest levels of belief and judgment about life. It can be used any time, day or night, with the eyes open or closed, to cause a calming and healing effect. Practiced with the eyes closed, this technique produces deeper rest than sleep. Because of this profound rest, deep-rooted stresses that are never touched by sleep dissolve.
Gratitude Attitude
Similar in power for transforming the root stresses is the Gratitude Attitude. The focus here is on the objective world; this technique is designed to cure all erroneous beliefs and concepts about the body and the external Universe. It is the master key for unlocking belief in the limitations of the body. It is invaluable for healing disease of any and all kinds.
Love Attitude
The Love Attitude heals another one of the fundamental misconceptions that keep us from experiencing who we truly are. The Love Attitude deals with our relationship to the Divine, the Ascendant, the Absolute, or the Infinite. Many people find this the sweetest of the first three techniques.
Compassion Attitude
The Compassion Attitude heals the fourth fundamental stress that keeps us from evolving. This technique deals with our relationship to all of humanity. This technique is used in conjunction with the other three techniques because our relationship to humanity is connected to our relationship to the subjective, the objective and to the Source, the Ascendant, and the Truth of who you are.
Together these first four techniques, the First Sphere, work to heal all underlying self-destructive programs, all stress, all past limitation or painful beliefs that keep our awareness bound up. They are the universal keys to the "Door of Everything". They are pure magic and it is with great joy that we can pass these techniques on to you.
Ascension was first taught in the United States in 1991 by Maharishi Sadashiva Isham (MSI). Although he is often considered the founder of the IshayaTechniques, MSI never claimed authorship of the TEACHING. He often said that the origins of Ascension are lost in the shrouds of time, and that it can actually trace its lineage through the Judeo-Christian traditions as well as through the East.
MSI trained teachers to spread the teaching. The teachers and the different organizations are dedicated to sharing the Ascension Attitudes with people throughout the world. Advanced training is available for those who desire it, but the basic course is sufficient to enable the practitioner to reach his or her highest goals.
